Custody

Your accounts are held at Schwab

Sand Run Wealth Management has selected Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. as the primary custodian for client assets.

Accounts are held directly at Schwab, an independent third-party custodian, while the firm provides the investment management and financial advice. Clients access their statements, confirmations, and account information through Schwab's platform. Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. is an independent company, unaffiliated with Sand Run Wealth Management.

Account types
Individual brokerage

A taxable investment account owned by one person. There are no contribution limits and no restrictions on when money can be withdrawn.

Joint brokerage

A taxable investment account shared by two or more people, often spouses. The form of joint ownership is chosen when the account is opened.

Traditional IRA

A retirement account where contributions may be tax deductible depending on income and other factors, and withdrawals in retirement are generally taxed as income.

Roth IRA

A retirement account funded with after-tax dollars. Qualified withdrawals in retirement, including growth, are generally tax free.

Rollover IRA

An IRA that receives assets moved out of a former employer's retirement plan, keeping their tax-deferred status rather than cashing out.

Inherited IRA

An IRA opened to receive retirement assets from someone who has died. It carries its own distribution rules based on the relationship and the timing.

SEP IRA

A retirement plan for self-employed people and small business owners, funded by employer contributions.

SIMPLE IRA

A retirement plan for small businesses, funded by a combination of employee salary deferrals and employer contributions.

Solo 401(k)

A 401(k) for an owner-only business, where the owner can contribute both as the employee and as the employer.

Trust

An investment account held in the name of a trust and managed according to the terms of the trust document.

Custodial

An account an adult manages on behalf of a minor. The assets become the child's at the age set by state law.

Business

An investment account owned by a business entity such as an LLC, corporation, or partnership.
